Canary Capital Files for Trump-Themed Crypto ETF
Canary Capital has applied to launch a Trump-themed crypto ETF, aiming to give investors access to digital assets linked to the former U.S. president.
The Canary Capital has registered for a crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) in Delaware, designed to track the Official Trump token associated with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Canary Capital Launches Trump Coin ETF
Canary Capital has filed for the Canary Trump Coin ETF, according to the Delaware Secretary of State’s website, a move that signals growing demand for traditional financial products that track memecoins.
While a formal filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may take months, the registration indicates the launch of a crypto ETF designed to track the Official Trump memecoin token.
At the time of publication, the TRUMP token, with a market capitalization of $1.9 billion, is ranking as the fifth largest among memecoins, excluding Dogecoin, and 49th among cryptocurrencies.
The registration follows filing by Osprey Funds and REX shares with the SEC on January 21, seeking approval to launch a crypto ETF tracking TRUMP memecoin, days after the token went live.
According to Dimitrij Radin, founder of Zekret and Chief Technology Officer of Fidium, the current crypto-friendly SEC administration’s approvals signal a growing interest in memecoins.
Dogecoin Leads ETF Market as SEC Reviews Pending Filings
Dogecoin, created as a joke in 2013, is now the most popular memecoin in the ETF market. The SEC is currently reviewing Dogecoin ETF proposals from Grayscale, Bitwise, and REX-Osprey.
To attract more institutional investors, Bitwise also updated its ETF filing on June 26 to include in-kind redemptions, allowing investors to trade ETF shares for Dogecoin instead of cash, thus lowering taxes.
Despite a sharp decline in memecoin growth since the spring of 2025, following a series of rug pulls exposing significant risks to retail investors, the memecoins market capitalization still stands at $82 billion at the time of this publication.
