After teasing its Twitter followers all week with an upcoming announcement, Coinbase has launched a new subscription service called Coinbase One.
Sadly, it’s not a much-anticipated Pepe Coin listing, as the Pepe community had hoped for.
What is Coinbase One?
The new One service from crypto exchange Coinbase is set to be launched across 35 countries, with initial access granted to customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ireland. The broader rollout to other countries is expected in the near future.
Features and benefits
For a monthly fee of $29.99, Coinbase One promises to provide a slew of additional features and benefits:
- Zero-fee trading
- Amplified staking rewards
- Exclusive benefits through partnerships with industry players such as Messari and CoinTracker
Coinbase also plans to collaborate with other partners including Alto IRA (Individual Retirement Account), Blockworks’ Permissionless, and Lemonade, to deliver additional benefits to its members.
Support team
Coinbase One members will have access to a 24/7 dedicated support team. They can reach out for assistance via phone and receive prompt help for any technical account issues. Especially for United States members, the subscription service will offer the handiness of a pre-filled tax Form 8949, simplifying the process of filing crypto taxes by automatically organizing their transactions.
Global expansion
This launch comes on the heels of Coinbase’s expansion efforts. On 2 May, Coinbase introduced the Coinbase International Exchange, a new institutional platform specifically for trading crypto derivatives. This strategic decision to broaden its operations internationally is a response to the regulatory challenges the exchange continues to face in the United States. Despite this international expansion, CEO Brian Armstrong has assured users that he remains “100% committed” to the U.S. market.
With the launch of Coinbase One, the company continues its mission to increase the accessibility of cryptocurrency trading and offers an exciting new service for its users.
Coinbase Pepe listing
Earlier in the week, Pepe fans had been convinced that the Coinbase announcement would be a listing of PEPE. But sadly not this time…
