Internet Computer up 13%, as eco-drive revealed

The price of Internet Computer (ICP) has jumped 13% today, as Dfinity Foundation revealed its new carbon-aware initiative along with Chain-key Bitcoin (ckBTC) token plans.

Internet Computer is currently trading at approximately $6.7819 – a rise of 13.47% in the last 24 hours. It is currently ranks as the 36th-biggest crypto with a market cap of $2billion, reveals data from CoinMarketCap.

According to Dfinity, the green initiative is ‘the next step to our sustainability journey, we are proud to partner with @carboncrowd_io on the industry’s first Sustainability Dashboard to bring transparency to carbon reporting.’

Carbon Crowd CTO Hamish Hutchings said: “We are on a mission to decarbonise the digital economy by providing real-time carbon analytics for cloud networks, blockchains and IoT devices. This data can be used to understand the source, amount and carbon intensity of the electricity consumed by a device or network of devices.”

In other Internet Computer news, ICP recently unveiled ckBTC, a wrapped form of Bitcoin, on its blockchain. According to developers, 34.6428 ckBTC have been minted on the network that are ‘actively enhancing the real utility of #Bitcoin‘.
